Emergency & Urgent Care

If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call immediately. It is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.   An emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call immediately. Some emergencies have to be directed to go to an emergency hospital.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you are an established client and feel that your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, we will work you in for an urgent care visit. This means that your pet will be seen in between or after our scheduled appointments. The wait time can vary. When you arrive, our receptionist may be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

No Show & Late Arrival Policy

Due to the high number of missed appointments, we have found it necessary to create a “no show” and “late arrival” policy. We understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, when you do not call in advance to cancel your appointment, you may be preventing another pet from getting much needed treatment.

Late Arrival Policy: We make every effort to be on time for all our appointments. Unfortunately, when even one patient arrives late, it can throw off the entire schedule for that day. Therefore, a client that arrives 10 minutes or more late to their scheduled appointment will be worked in as an urgent care visit or rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Appointment Cancellation: To be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please call our office promptly if you are unable to keep an appointment. If it is necessary to cancel your appointment, we ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care.

Appointment No Show Policy: A “no show” is a client who misses an appointment without cancelling it. The first time there is a “no show,” we will contact you to inform you of the missed appointment and remind you of our “no show” policy. You will be required to pay the $60 no show fee to schedule another appointment, which will be applied towards your visit. A second occurrence will result in forfeiture of the no show fee.  To be rescheduled, you will have to prepay for the entire visit.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and support in these trying times and want to do all we can to serve your needs.
